JOIN US for The Celebration of Delaware County Philanthropy! DCCF will hold its 2008 Celebration of Delaware County Philanthropy on Wednesday, November 19, 5:00-7:00 PM, at the Springfield County Club. The evening will celebrate the progress of the Foundation over the past year and will recognize those who have demonstrated exemplary leadership in philanthropy for Delaware County. Gary Papa, ABC6 Action News Sports Director, will be the featured speaker. Since 1983, Mr. Papa became host of “Prime Time,” which he co-hosts with Cecily Tynan. In 2004 Mr. Papa was diagnosed with prostate cancer and since that time has dedicated himself to raising awareness and financial support for the early diagnosis and detection of prostate cancer. Through his efforts, he has provided an inspiring example of how personal leadership and philanthropic commitment make a critical difference to individuals, communities, and special causes. Thomas A. Bruder, Jr. will be honored with DCCF’s 2008 Leadership in Philanthropy Award, reflecting his and his family’s long history of civic leadership and generosity in benefiting those who live and work in Delaware County. Mr. Bruder was formerly president of the family-owned company, M.A. Bruder & Sons, Inc., from 1967 until the company was sold in 2007. The Delaware County Daily Times and NEWS of Delaware County will receive special recognition for their outstanding leadership and support of charitable initiatives benefiting those who live and work in Delaware County. Representing the publications will be Phil Heron, managing editor of the Delaware County Daily Times, and Brigette ReDavid, managing editor of the NEWS of Delaware County. The event is open to professional advisors, financial services organizations, nonprofits, businesses, donors, and others interested in learning more about philanthropy in Delaware County.
