It's easy to work with your clients to start your a fund at the Delaware County Community Foundation.
Your clients can make a gift of cash, stocks, bonds, real estate or other assets. Their gift will qualify for the maximum charitable benefit under the law. With as little as $3,000 in cash or other assets, your clients can start and name their own fund. Distributions from the fund, however, cannot begin until the fund reaches $10,000.
Your clients can give in honor of someone or an event such as a wedding anniversary or special birthday, or to memorialize a loved one. Tax deductions are earned at the time of your gift, even if grants awarded from the fund are deferred into the future.
Your clients can designate a gift or portion of their estate to the Foundation, and in many cases, receive a substantial reduction in gift and estate taxes.
Your clients can make a gift to the Foundation now, get immediate tax benefits, and ensure that they or loved ones receive fixed quarterly or annual payments for life – at rates very attractive in today’s economic climate.
Your clients can place cash or property in a trust that pays annual income to them (or other named beneficiary) for life. After death, the remainder of the fund transfers to the Delaware County Community Foundation where it is placed in a charitable trust that your clients have selected. Your clients will receive income tax benefits in the year the trust is established.
Your clients can name the Foundation as the owner or beneficiary of a life insurance policy. They may also name the Foundation as the beneficiary of all or a portion of their IRA<401(k) or other retirement plan. In the future, their gift will be placed in a charitable fund to support their favorite causes- exactly in the way they have designated.
Your clients may know which charitable organizations they want to support or they may not. In either case, the Foundation’s staff can help you and your client shape a grant-making program that fits their current circumstances and that carries on their charitable intent forever.
DCCF’s staff welcomes the opportunity to meet with you and your client to help determine the best way for them to leave a legacy to Delaware County.
